Speech pathology is the best in terms of flexibility, current and future number of jobs available, and excellent pay. Even though there’s science involved, there’s no math.
RT and dietetics require heavy science and math.
I’m a single parent and returned to graduate school when my son was 4. I did my MA in 18 months by going year-round and taking advantage of both sessions of summer school. I was fortunate enough to find a paid clinical fellowship to complete my hospital training after grad school.
We were able to buy a house, have a yearly vacation, and a nice car. I always had full benefits at work. I was never out of a job longer than a week.
Speech pathology has many different work settings: schools, clinics, nursing homes, private practice, hospitals, consulting, and home health. You can work part-time or full-time. No nights, no weekends.
There are lots of areas of specialization, so a person never has to get bored. If you get tired of working with adult neuro, for example, you can switch to working with stutterers, the hearing impaired, pediatrics– it goes on and on.

When I retired, I was making $80,000/yr. as a department head. Today, it would be about $110,000. (20 years experience).
